CoolerEmail Plug-In Support

CoolerEmail is the leading email delivery and management system. Since its launch almost a decade ago, it has served as the "utility company of email." Its reliability and security are simply unsurpassed. And with the broadest feature set available at an affordable price, you are assured a compelling return-on-investment.

We have accumulated some basic plug-in support issues on this page for our users to view. We cannot guarantee the performance of CoolerEmail plug-ins on any system because every computer and network is different; however, we have tried to test every plug-in in as many scenarios as we can. If you would like to add anything to this page, please let us know!

ACT! Plug-in

Problem: The ACT!-CoolerEmail synch stops partially through the process and does not give an error
Solution: Verify that your ACT! database does not have any illegal characters in your Email addresses. Remove any apostrophes, quotes, and other characters that email cannot use. One easy way to do this is to export your ACT! database into Excel or a tab-delimited textfile and search for those odd characters (or do a quick visual scan).

Problem: The ACT!-CoolerEmail synch generates a timeout error
Solution: If you have a slow or lagging Internet connection in combination with a large number of contacts, you may need to reduce the Batch Size setting in the plug-in. Set a small number (e.g., 500) for the Batch Size in the General Tab in the Plug-in.

Outlook Plug-in

Problem: Outlook contacts are not being added to your CoolerEmail mailing list
Solution: Similar to the illegal character problem above, your Outlook may be storing apostrophes or quotes in your email address field. You can easily find these characters in two ways. First, you can find the error being generated by looking at the CoolerEmail-Outlook logfile in C:\Program Files\CoolerEmail\CoolerEmail Outlook Plugin, in the file "CEMLOLPlugin.Log". This should show you where the problem occurred. Second, you can search your Outlook for contacts having strange characters. Right-click on the Contacts folder, choose Advanced Find, and search for the apostrophe or quote character in the Email field.

Problem: Contacts are failing to synchronize when Outlook is being used with an Exchange Server.
Solution: In order for the Outlook Plug-in to function properly when the Outlook client is being used with a Microsoft Exchange server it may be necessary to flag the Contacts folder as "off-line" prior to performing a contacts synchronization operation. When the Outlook Plug-in synchronization has finished, mark the Contacts folder as "on-line" and Exchange will synchronize with its contact database.
